DIWALI IS A FESTIVAL OF 5 DAYS FROM DHANTERAS TO BHAIDOOJ AND DIWALI VACATION ARE JUST FOR 5 DAYS WHILE CHRISTMAS IS A 2 DAYS CELEBRATION WITH 10 HOLIDAYS.
DIWALI VACATION SHOULD AT LEAST BE FOR 8--10 DAYS 2 DAYS BEFIORE DHANTERAS TO JUST AFTWER BHAIDOOJ.I FEEL IT IS MUST YOU MAY CUT DOWN OTHER HOLIDAYS FROM SUMMER OR CHRISTMAS DAYS.

Christmas vaccations are for ten days only in missionary schools , whereas in others they are only for 3 days however i agree that diwali vaccations shoud be from dashehra to diwali as before.
diwali is the biggest festival of our country & every one is involved despite of cast or religion as everybody cleans, decorates house office. new cloths belongings gifts are purchased so max business at this festival so vacations must be for 7-10 days
